As a former New Yorker, I know this not just brochure lingo, but the truth, When you live in the city, you are just a subway ride away from anything. A few weeks ago I told you about the liquidation sale of the Rentboy offices. Today’s opportunity carries more permanence and underscores another truth, sooner or later, it all comes down to sticking it in something.

Indie superstar Lake Bell is married tattoo artist Scott Campbell. I don’t use the word artist loosely. Scott Campbell is the inker to the stars like Orlando Bloom and Sting. Even commanding $1000 an hour, he has a waiting list. Unless you are adventurous and in Manhattan this weekend.

Scott Campbell is giving away free tats through Sunday at Milk Studios in NYC, but with one big catch.

The installation, called “Whole Glory,” enables winners of a special lottery to sit for an hour with only their arm through a hole to get permanently — and anonymously — marked by Campbell. Putting faith in the Louisiana native’s talents, subjects have no say in the design, but the 37-year-old husband of Lake Bell admits he normally prefers a client’s input.

“A lot of people come to me and say, ‘Do whatever you want,’” Campbell recently told Page Six. “I appreciate that trust because I know a lot of times they say that because they want to give me that freedom, but I enjoy the collaborative aspect of tattooing.”
