Twink Gay Porn or MGMT Video?
“Velo” is a series by Helix Studios about bike messengers (velo means bike in French). Helix hasn’t been on my radar too much but I have to say, the first scene looks pretty impressive: The videography is excellent and it looks like it could be a music video by a hipster band like MGMT. It doesn’t hurt that Matthew Keading (the twink who gets viciously impaled by Ty Roderick) kinda looks like Andrew VanWyngarden.

This also really reminds me of a film by late French director Jean-Daniel Cadinot called “Le Coursier” (which means “The Courier” in English) which is also about bike messengers and happens to be one of my favorite movies off all time. Unfortunately I don’t think any of those old JD Cadinot films will ever see the light of day again. He was very protective of his stuff when he was alive and now apparently his estate/whomever is managing his business is even more protective (i.e. they want a ton of money).

I see both sides of it … when I worked at falcon I oversaw the DVD re-release of their older titles. For one thing, it’s actually a lot more expensive than you’d expect to transfer an analogue title to DVD
Plus it was a law of diminishing returns. Each release sold fewer and fewer copies. While porn fans like you and me see the value in the “classic” back catalogues of master directors like Cadinot or Matt Sterling the “average” porn fan wants shiny/new.
Steven Toushin is doing a great job of re-releasing classics (http://www.bijougaymovies.com) but I can’t imagine he’s exactly rolling in dough from it …

Not sure if it has anything to do with his decision to stop making porn, but Matthew Keading came out as a trans woman back in September in an interview to manhuntdaily. He said he’d continue filming porn for another 4 to 5 months and then start hormone therapy.
