In what’s sure the first of flurry of press for his upcoming Gigolo movie, Lucas Entertainment Press Machine released the following image with the following headline, and we’ll play along (despite some other bloggers taste concerns):
Michael Lucas found dead in Manhattan apartment
Authorities released the photo below of the crime scene.

Wow, this is in very poor taste indeed. But for Mr. Lucas, there’s no such thing as bad publicity (but what do you expect from an attention whore?).
Can there be such a thing as “bad taste” when promoting a gay porn movie? Seriously — lighten up people.
If he had been strangled, his tongue would be sticking out. No, I’m afraid our Mr. Lucas died of spinal collapse crushed by a swollen ego.
Yeah, poor taste exists in all areas of life, including gay porn. I’m all for kinky sex, but is the mainstream really ready to embrace *murder* as an object of eroticism?
I hate to tell you this but, when a body isn’t good and dead (heard this from a mortician) it can still be moving around. This might be legal tender to make sure it doesn’t.
Ugh. I can’t stand his politics. Or, rather, I should say that I can’t stand his attitude that he is always right. But, I generally put up with him because he has the right to say what he wants.
BUT…this little PR stunt is ill-conceived, at best. Connecting porn with murder is just plain wrong.
These photos were the subject of a Law and Order: Criminal Intent episode (photographer who took photos of women in death-type photos). If it were art, it might be a different story. As a public relation stunt and the fact the photos aren’t very well done, it is just something that warrants an eye roll.
I imagine the list of suspects would be staggering!

How is what Lucas is doing different than an episode of Law & Order or any other vacuous television police drama? Is it the gay angle? Well, if he’s a gay man making a story about a gay man who is murdered well…
God help me that have to side with Lucas on any point but really – lighten up.
Your misplaced outrage gives this silliness a gravitas it doesn’t warrant.
We have some big political battles coming up in ’08. Let’s not fret over this nonsense and instead save our energy for those.

Oh puhleeez, can we talk about poor taste??? I see that is has worked for pop music star Madonna (poor taste is her trademark) and fashion mogul Calvin Klein too. So don’t be raggin’ on Michael Lucas just because he’s following in the other media whore’s footsteps.

This is not in bad taste…it’s just bad…could have been an interesting pr stunt but it was ill-conceived and poorly carried out. To ‘retract’ within 24hours was ridiculous. Poor planning and carelessly carried out. Fire the marketing and/or pr staff. Sloppy ‘work’ from someone who would never appear sloppy in public…whats up with that?
