Reward fucks? Fetish shows? Sex on a bain marie? Many porno have spun the reality-show genre, but The Show (a co-production of New York-based companies Pitbull Productions and Dark Alley Media) really genre back to its low-rent roots.

The dicks are huge, the sex is perverse and the lighting — well, the lighting is beside the point. Sometimes it’s so hot the model could be a rotisserie chicken. Literally. There’s a kitchen scene where the guy getting pounded next to a huge plate of uncooked steak and sausage. Ten bucks says it became craft service.

For all it’s awkward charm, it’s a hot production that knows how to capture the raw appeal of amateur with the professional vigor of sexual atheletes like Supreme, Owen Hawk, Collin O’Neal, Mario Cruz and Tiger Tyson. After a few rounds of eliminations, a winner is proclaimed for millionaire Matthias Von Fistenburg but the real treat is watching suprisingly candid the post-sex interviews. As Mario Cruz says about winning “in Kabbalah the most important thing is … to receive for the sake of others, not to receive for yourself alone.” If porn had a tagline, that’d be it.
